If you have watched “The Chosen”, you have had the opportunity to view a very compelling retelling of the Gospels. If you have not yet watched “The Chosen”, you should consider it.
With that in mind, the producers of “The Chosen” have partnered with Prime Video, who carries the whole series (seasons 1-5, and free to view), to allow churches to have an “early, pre release” showing of the first episode of the upcoming sixth season. Season Five covered the events of Holy Week and the Last Supper, closing with Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. Season Six will retell the story of Jesus’ last day, beginning with His betrayal by Judas, His trials, and His death and burial.
We will be hosting a viewing of this first episode here at Trinity on Saturday, October 24th. A light lunch will be offered beginning at 12 Noon, and we will start our viewing at 12:30 PM. The whole Trinity Family is invited to join us for this event, and you are welcome to invite and bring friends. If you are planning on coming for lunch, please contact Carole Dingess at church or by phone at 240-676-0744 or by email at cdingess@umd.edu, so that we can be sure to have enough food for everyone.
Though the account of Jesus’ last days is quite familiar to us, you may want to take the opportunity to catch up on “the story so far”. If you have the time, you can prepare by “bingeing” the whole series. Or you can simply watch either all of Season 5 or just the season’s final episode, which will bring you to the point where the new season will begin. By viewing some or all of “The Chosen”, especially if you have not yet seen it, you will have a bit more understanding about how the creators have chosen to portray the life of Jesus on the screen.
The first five seasons of “The Chosen” can be viewed for free on Prime Video. If you are not subscribed to Prime, you can also watch through using “The Chosen” App, which is also free and available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store; or you can also view by visiting online at thechosen.tv. Season Six of “The Chosen” will be released on Prime Video and other online platforms on November 15th, beginning with the first three episodes. Three more episodes will be released over the following three weeks, and the season will conclude in theaters with a feature film to be released in March 2027, just before Holy Week.

We hope you will join us for this special event!
